The District's Community Services department is dedicated to improving quality of life for all residents in Muskoka by addressing the holistic needs of our communities.

Instilling Hope, Changing Lives, Building Communities

Financial assistance, emergency shelter and employment supports
  Muskoka Community Services delivers financial, employment, and other support services to eligible residents of Muskoka. Programs include: Addictions & Mental Health, Ontario Works, Emergency Shelter, Financial Assistance for Child Care, Financial Assistance for Housing, Income Tax Clinics, McConnell Foundation of Muskoka, Ontario Disability Transitional Support Program, and Youth (Under 18) Support
Social housing and affordable housing initiatives
  The District Municipality of Muskoka's Social Housing program provides affordable rental housing for people whose income prevents them from finding adequate housing in the private rental market. To address the need for attainable housing in Muskoka, the District provides several affordable housing programs.  Programs include:  Capital Incentives for Developers and Builders, Home Ownership – Down Payments, Ontario Renovates – Funding for Home Repairs, and Rent Supplements.
Childcare services and family support programs
  The District is committed to providing and promoting affordable access to quality child care services that enhance opportunities for early childhood development. Programs include:  Child Care Fee Subsidy, Licensed Child Care, Home Child Care, Summer Camp Funding, The Nest, and Wage Enhancement for Early Childhood Educators.
Community outreach and food programs 
  The District offers or partners with other groups to deliver a wide variety of programs and services to support strong and vibrant communities in Muskoka. Programs include:  Food Programming, Fresh Food Baskets, !MPACT Café, and Pay It Forward.
Seniors programs and services
  The District of Muskoka's Seniors Programs and Services help support health and well-being, socialization, and community engagement for seniors in Muskoka. Our goal is to connect seniors, families, and caregivers to information services, programs and initiatives in Muskoka.
Community transportation
  Muskoka is a large region, making it a challenge for some residents to travel without a personal vehicle for transportation. The following transportation services are available:  Corridor 11 and Muskoka Extended Transit (The MET).
Health and human service integration
  Health Care partners in Muskoka work together to maintain our excellent health care system through projects such as Community Health Hubs, Coordinated Care Planning, Muskoka Community Health Link, and the Muskoka & Area Health System Transformation (MAHST).
Planning and services coordination
  The District coordinates and/or participates in a number of regional planning and services coordination tables. The focus area of each table is unique, but all share common objectives to better align human and health services in Muskoka to ensure that we meet the needs of our most vulnerable community members.
