The Clerk's Office provides administrative support and guidance for the Township of Muskoka Lakes and works closely with the Mayor and Members of Township Council.

The Clerk's Office prepares agendas and minutes, maintains municipal records, including by-laws and minutes and processes requests under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Road allowance closures, license agreements, lottery licensing, vital statistics, and cemeteries are also among the administrative services provided. 

The Clerk's office receives applications under the Code of Conduct, and closed meeting investigations.

Responsibilitly for approving tag day applications and requests to appear before Township Council or Committee have also been delegated to the Clerk.

Information and Technology is coordinated and applied through the Clerk's Office including a paperless electronic agenda system and the municipal website.

Municipal elections are conducted pursuant to the Municipal Elections Act through this department and are held every four years. The next municipal election will be in 2018.

Township Council Policies, the Municipal Act and other related legislation govern the Clerk's Office.
